The Cheltenham Festival Trials day could be argued to be one of the best jump racing days of the year. The Cheltenham Festival Trials day should help give you points for the cheltenham festival 2009 which takes place between 10th March 2009 to 13th March 2009. We gave

There is 7 raves which should help give some idea of where the big race winners may come from in March, Last year 5 cheltenham festival winner ran at the Cheltenham Trials day. It should be a great days racing, the feature races include Letheby & Christopher Chase, Byrne Group Cleeve Hurdle and the betchronicle.com Trophy Chase. We have had a good look at the race card, and have a good each way Cheltenham Trials Tip, and a Cheltenham Trials NAP
Stan has a very strong claims, but nothing really jumps from the page and the preference for a broker or another depends on the price than anything else. Two interests us Battlecry and Pablo Du Charmil, but we are more likely to offer price LIDJO DE ROUGE rider Nicky Henderson. We are always on the look out Cheltenham Festival Tips

Stan destroyed the fields that are included in the selection of admiration and very private time and even more distance and 10 pounds of weight can be enough to stop it if it is in the same mood. In soft conditions could help the veteran too and have the order to close the course of a specialist is not dangerous.

The Cheltenham Festival Trials Day Race Card

12:55 Racecourse Of Year Classic Novices’ Hurdle (grade 2) (4yo+, 2m 4f 110y, 6 runners)
13:30 Timeform Novices’ Handicap Chase (5yo+, Class 2, 2m 5f, 10 runners)
14:05 Betchronicle.com Trophy Chase (grade 3 Handicap) (5yo+, Class 1, 2m 5f, 14 runners)
14:35 Letheby & Christopher Chase (grade 2) (5yo+, Class 1, 3m 1f 110y, 8 runners)
15:10 Wragge & Co Juvenile Novices’ Hurdle (grade 2) (4yo, Class 1, 2m 1f, 7 runners)
15:45 Byrne Group Cleeve Hurdle (grade 2) (5yo+, Class 1, 3m, 8 runners)
16:20 Brightwells Cheltenham Bloodstock Auctions Handicap Hurdle (4yo+, Class 2, 2m 1f, 16 runners

13:30 – QUWS LAW 2pts e/w
We almost landed a nice touch with Quws Law a few weeks back when he almost got the better of Howard Johnson’s hotpot Companero at his beloved Ayr. It’s interesting that he comes here to Cheltenham with an extra meeting at his favoured Scottish track on Sunday, and that tip should be noted. Connections clearly feel he’s at the top of his game at present and are eying this valuable prize. He’ll love the expected soft conditions and although this trip might be slightly on the short side for him with the testing ground and the stiff track he’ll certainly not be stopping at the business end of the race.

14:05 – STAN 2pts e/w
Another cracking contest for racegoers to get stuck into, with some old faces renewing association. It’s great to see the grey Reveillez, now with Jonjo O’Neill, back on track after over 600 days off. He landed the Jewson here back in 2006 and with the yard’s horses in great form at present I certainly wouldn’t put anyone off him. Other course winners in the line-up include Mister McGoldrick, Pablo Du Charmil, Moon Over Miami, Akilak, Too Forward and Stan, and it’s the last-named runner that’s of most interest. He dotted up here on New Year’s Day in a similar contest, which gave him a 50% win record from his four visits to Prestbury Park. Venetia Williams’ team are still in great heart and with the talented Aidan Coleman in the saddle again, taking off a handy 3 pounds, despite rise in the ratings, he can go in again.

14:35 – ROLL ALONG 1pt e/w
Yes, it would have been great to see either Denman or Kauto Star in the line-up, but the race has probably come a few week’s too soon for the current Gold Cup champion, while the Nicholls camp have already said we are unlikely to see Kauto until Gold Cup Day, with the soft ground also unlikely to suit.

Despite their absence the race should still throw up a few Festival clues, whether it’s as an each-way option for the Gold Cup or some of the other races, like the Ryanair Chase. Tidal Bay is yet to finish out of the first two in all his seventeen starts, and although he landed the Arkle in great fashion last year, there is a big question mark as to whether he’ll stay this 3m1f trip in this ground.

The likely jolly Halcon Genelardais will certainly stay, having finished third in the Welsh National in December. He’ll love the ground, but he’s not won since 2006 at the likely short odds he’s worth taking on.

Star De Mohaison is interesting, having run well here last month when just failing to give lumps of weight to Mon Mome. He’s still only 8 year-old and despite having his problems over the last few season’s it looks as if Mr Nicholls has done a great job getting him back to almost where he left off. However, at the prices, I think Carl Llewellyn’s Roll Along could be the one. He’s won here at the track in the past, albeit over hurdles, but his second to Albertas Run in the SunAlliance Chase at the Festival last season gives him a real chance. He won’t mind the soft ground and after only two runs this term he should be starting to come to the boil – Tom O’Brien takes the mount.

Mr Strachan is a big price, currently available at 11.0, given his close form with the likes of Tidal Bay, Kruguyrova, Tidal Bay and Ornais, and I’ll be backing him to win and place.

Dear Villez is the race favourite at odds of 9/2. His nearest rivals, Arturo and Barber’s Shop are priced at 8/1 by totesport.

2:20 pm: The Seasons Holidays Queen Mother Champion Chase.

both Voy Por Ustedes and Twist Magic, the best piece of form on offer, from both a speed and handicap point of view, is Tamarinbleu’s win at Ascot, where he beat Twist Magic by 12 lengths. I’ll be having a maximum on him in the win and place markets (assuming, that is, he runs here and not in the Ryanair Chase where he’s a massive bet if switching). I also think Mansony is overpriced at around 27.0 based on his defeat of Nickname at Leopardstown, and if his price holds up, he is also worth a small interest to win and place.
5-2 priced Master Minded and 4-1 priced Twist Magic. Alan King’s Voy Por Ustedes is at 11-4 t

2:55 pm: The Ryanair Chase

The Listener and Our Vic have easily the best form on offer. The former will be interesting going down in trip, particularly if he can get a soft lead, and the latter should respond well to first-time blinkers. At bigger prices I also like Racing Demon and Billyvoddan, who have both posted big speed figures in the past.

It seems strange to back four horses in a nine horse race, but along with my big lay of Mossbank, that’s what I’ll be doing. As long as the Irish horse gets beaten I’ll make a profit in the race, and anything else will be a bonus.

11/4 Mossbank 7-2 Our Vic

3:30 pm: The 3 mile Ladbrokes World Hurdle

I’d rather Hardy Eustace wasn’t in the race, but even so, Inglis Drever is my banker of the meeting. I’ll be splitting my stake and having half of it on him pre-race at around 2.3. The other half I’m going to put on in-running when the tapes go up at various prices from 5.0 up to 20.0, hoping the bets will get matched before he comes back on the bridle and collects his third title. Blazing Bailey is a strong contender at 13/2 .
4:05 pm: The2 mile 5 furlong Racing Post Plate Handicap Chase

Ante-post favourite Don’t Push It at 11/4 odds, Bible Lord at 7/1 odds and Gwanako at 8/1 I will be having a small saver on Palarshan, who is back at a feasible weight and is a previous Festival winner. If people don’t fancy the favourite, Palarshan represents a value each-way bet.
4:40 pm: The Pertemps Final Handicap Hurdle

favourites Robin du Bois and Backboard must be good bets at odds of 5/1 and 7/1 respectively. I’ll be splitting my stake four ways and backing Wild Cane Ridge, Mobaasher, Miko De Beauchene and Buena Vista.

5:20 pm: The Kim Muir Challenge Cup Handicap Chase is likely to be a closely contested affair. This marathon 4 mile 1 furlong thriller will feature 7/1 priced My Immortal and 8/1 Officier de Reserve taking on a strong field with nine runners priced under 20-1.

5:50 pm: The Weatherby’s Champion Bumper Zaarito set off as joint 4-1 favourites. Zaarito – and the form is certainly there to see – but the 5.2 currently available seems a little short when there is so much potential talent elsewhere.
